Mr Liow came back earlier so that we could bring them for a shower. Somehow the floor in Arizona seems dirtier. I brought BM for short walks and they come back with BLACK paws! They only return with slightly grey paws when I walk them in Singapore.
They were so happy at Camalot and to see us yesterday when we went to pick them up. Baileys doesn't always like anyone else other than Mr Liow and I and AN (and very few others who have spent quality time with him before). Yet they were all over Jim & Jo yesterday!
Jim said Baileys was shy initially and dared not leave the caged area. Maen was the nonchalant one. She came out the very moment they allowed her to. Jo described their behaviour in an interesting way: "Baileys saw that Maen was out and decided that he would come out too. He's as big as the dogs outside anyway. And they've been playing together since." And yes they look happy.
As usual, Maen went to charm the couple. They said she'd jump up onto their laps when they sit back on their rocking chair. Else she'd jump onto the recliner to sleep by herself. Maen loves to be sitting high up, as most of you who've been visiting their blog would have known by now.
They smell good! I asked Jo if she bathed them and she smiled saying: "I did tell you they are going to be different when you come back for them, didn't I?" The only thing was, they had dirty paws. Like I said, I wonder why the floor in Arizona is so dirty.
The couple fed them Royal Canine: Chihuahua formula. hee. They said it's a premium brand of kibbles and they did well on it (nice firm stools). Back in Singapore, Royal Canine was not one of the premium brands but apparently it is here.
BM looked so loved there that Mr Liow and I both felt really thankful we found them. This will be where BM will go to when we go on long trips!
After picking them, we went to get them food, a bed and take them for a shower. I bought them something organic (I can't recall the name of the kibbles offhand) that contains fish (for their skin). The ingredient list looked good to me. hee.
I saw Royal Canine. It's costly here! Royal Canine is 3 times the cost of the organic kibbles I bought. I better check the credibility of the kibbles I bought online to make sure I'm not giving BM inferior food.
I'm contemplating cooking for them. Will try to do so since I'll also be cooking for ourselves from now on.
They slept by themselves downstairs last night and for the 1st time, they slept apart from us without scratching at the divider or bark to inform us that we forgot them. They were probably tired last night. Please pray that they will be as easy every night now as they were last night.
I woke up half an hr ago to check on them. They did their business on papers in the toilet as usual. I'm so happy to at least know that I don't have to worry about their outputs now.
Toilet training settled, sleeping place settled (I hope.), next will be their separation anxiety when we are not around.
They were fine back in Singapore (Diana, do you hear them bark for very long intervals?). At least from my observation, they will bark for less than 10mins after we leave home and not bark after they realised we won't return that soon. If they get treats, they do not even bark. That's my observation when I'm around (downstairs or just outside the house). I won't know if I'm away tho.
At the hotel, they were totally out of control! We could give them treats and hours later when we returned, we heard Baileys still barking! No wonder we got a note asking us to keep our dog quiet.
Maen, altho appearing to be the noisier one by nature, was calmer this whole time we were here.
I'll need to start practising the separation anxiety exercise with them now. Really don't want bad relationship with neighbours and the management.
If they can be happy by themselves at home, I believe there will be nothing much I need to worry about. (^_^) Please keep the 4 legged Liows in prayers k? hehe.
