We set off at 8am in the morning yesterday to meet Mr Liow's colleagues halfway and then drove to Best Hongkong Dining in Phoenix (we've always thought it was Best of Hongkong.hehe.) for lunch.
The restaurant opens at 10.30am and when we reached at 10.25am, they were still closed. They do not open till 10.30am and they strictly abide by it...hmm.
Mr Liow continued driving after lunch and we finally reached Flagstaff at 3.55pm. That was a long one for him. Not the longest to come but the longest this far since we've reached. Poor Mr Liow. He was tired by the time we reached and needed a nap but AN was everywhere and all over him. All he got was a mere half hour of interrupted rest.
Flagstaff is such a nice place! Beautiful scenery, beautiful buildings, even the road looks nice to me. We've not seen the colour green as much as we did since we reached yesterday.
Best is, weather is so nice! It felt neither cold nor hot when we reached yesterday. I have no idea what the temperature was like yesterday tho.
It's 71 Deg F as I'm typing this now. About 21.67 Deg C.
We had Thai food for dinner last night and it was another feast for the eye as we drove there.
There is nightlife here, so unlike Tucson where even if a cafe is opened at night, it will be empty. Here, like back in Singapore, there are cafes around, and they are filled with people. Maybe coz we're somewhere near town, shops are near each other, unlike Tucson where shops are in the same area but so far apart that we either have to drive to get around the same place, or take a LONG and HOT walk back to the car after we're done. sigh...sounds like I'm condemning Tucson by now.
People here seem generally more friendly too. We've been talking to strangers, from the Thai restaurant last evening, to fellow hotel guests in the lift.
How's AN taking it?
I wonder if she knows we are away from home but either way, she been happily exploring the room, opening up drawers, touching everything that's within her reach since we reached. I told her that if there should be some investigation in this room after we leave, the investigators will have a hard time differentiating fingerprints in the room coz it'd be hers EVERYWHERE. I really mean everywhere, even on top of the lampshade beside the bed.
She was interested in the fried rice I made while we were in the car yesterday. It was leftover and I was a little hesitant in giving it to her but I supposed she must be hungry coz she did not have breakfast before we left home yesterday.
She liked the fried rice, to my surprise. And, I fried it with a little chilli powder which she didn't even seem to notice. At least she didn't behave like her tongue was burning. Mr Liow said she's inherited that from me. With every spoon I gave her, even before she swallowed the rice, she was pointing to the spoon asking for more. I guess I now have an additional item added to her menu. It's really at her pace and not mine. hee.
Her hair's long enough to be tied up already, as seen from couple of weeks back. She managed to sit still long enough for me to do 2 pony tails yesterday. *phew* It was hard work getting her to not fidget.
Oh, I missed Baileys and Maen. The house felt exceptionally quiet and empty after Mr Liow took them to Camalot. It's really a pity that USA is not as pet friendly as we think it is unlike Europe I guess.
Will post pictures after I upload them. hehe. Otang 1st.
