Prayer request

It's sad to hear what Mr Liow came home with yesterday. I do not personally know his colleague but I know the pain of losing a loved one and can identify with part of what he's going through now. Mr Liow's dad had been on life support 2 years back as well, and departed after the family decided to let him go. It was all so sudden. I was praying for miracles to happen but I'm sure the Lord had a better plan back then. The good thing that came out of it was that Mr Liow's mum has accepted the Lord into her life and is currently attending church with some friends. Praise the Lord for her salvation! I'm sure Mr Liow's dad wasn't forgotten as well.

Mr Liow's colleague's parents came to Tucson to visit him and his family just days ago (recently only). All of a sudden, his dad fainted, got rushed to A&E and was declared brain dead soon after. He's now surviving on life support. They (whoever 'they' are) are arranging for his brother to make it here from Singapore to see their dad for the last time before they take him off life support. Mr Liow said they have a little sister who's currently in France. If she's studying there, it probably won't be easy for her to leave and rush over. Given that it's October now, won't she be having exams soon?

What happens next? They thought of transporting their dad's body back by flight back to Singapore but it's not going to be cheap. Everyday in ICU here is a whooping USD$15,000 (I don't know how long he's been in ICU). And they have not gotten a positive answer from their insurance company as to whether or not his dad will be covered.

Please keep the family in prayers as the Spirit leads.

Main items to pray for:
- Emotional support for the family
- Family in Singapore/ France to reach here safely and in time, even at this last minute arrangement.
- Financial ability to cope with the huge amount to pay the hospital here (that the insurance company will not refuse to pay, even as they outrightly suggest now that they doubt this case is covered. I never trust insurance companies with all the fine prints, their 1000-word-per-page contract & non-laymen jargons..)
- Mr Liow's boss suggested it might be more economy to cremate his dad here instead of transport his body back. Pray that his family will come to a wise decision regarding this.

It's just so sad...

Sets me thinking if it's wise my parents come over end Jan nxt year. My dad NEVER had a health checkup. He refuses to go for any checkups coz he thinks everyone who goes for checkups ends up hearing the doctor tell them they are "diabetic, blood level too high, cholesterol too high, or has cancer". At least that's what happens to people around him.

Just can't help worrying..anyway...I leave these worries to the Lord.

Please do remember Mr Liow's colleague and family in prayers.
