I hate feeding time

This is probably the millionth time I'm saying this:

I really hate feeding time

It's been 1 year and 2 months at least, since AN started showing fussiness, so much so that I can no longer differentiate between fussiness or her being unwell.

She feeds herself and takes eternity to finish a portion any baby newly starting on semi-solid can finish in 15 mins, and not always finish them..

If I am to feed her, I always end up with raised blood pressure an hour after we start because she will still not have finished half a portion of what she started with. And she will look all puffed up like a hamster with food store in its cheeks.

Those Gerber baby food (pasta/rice with meat & vege, not those pureed ones) portioned about half the size of a lady's clenched fist takes her more than an hour, and she will end up with leftovers because I do not want to overfeed her and have her throw up (I wonder how small her stomach really is).

She does not bite unless I feed her food about the size of .... an ant, one by one.

I wonder if she has medical issues that I overlook. I've read of this illness that makes children unable to chew and swallow. Maybe the next time we visit the doctor, I really should ask.

If she is still just picky, will she ever outgrow that? How long does a child take to outgrow this stage of life????

Once upon a time when she first tasted food, nutrition was of utmost importance. She must have self-pureed vegetables and home cooked food (nothing off the shelves). Vegetables/ brown rice have to be organic, meat/fish has to be fresh, no wheat products till she reached a year old, no added salt/ sugar (seasoning comes in the form of home made stock). And I followed closely every guideline that tells of what a baby has to avoid till a certain age.

Now, as long as she eats, I do not even mind sharing my very unhealthy instant noodles with her.

Baby, when will you start to get excited over food?
