Back, with Vacation Summary and link to pictures in Facebook

Our San Diego getaway was a good one, mainly because Mr Liow is around. hehe.

Will upload pictures in the next few days when I have the time to. Mr Liow is on afternoon shift again this week, so .... actually even if he is on morning shift, I may not be able to upload pictures any sooner. It all depends on the human puppy, really.

Wednesday (25th Nov)
Took a long drive to Harrah, Rincon. It was about 4 hours of highway drive, followed by almost 4 more of mountainous roads. The later part of the journey was tough coz it was up and down terrain roads. Thank God AN was fine for most parts of the journey. She threw up nearing the end of the drive but was ok after that.

Thursday (26th Nov)
It's Legoland Day!

We've taken AN's height but have not really taken to heart how tall she is now.

At Legoland, she has to be at least 34" tall for some games and 36" or more for others. Thank God she is slightly over 34" now and got on some of the rides. She had wanted the take the other thrilling ones and we tried queue-ing for a couple (those minimum height requirement of 36". Didn't want to waste time on those above 40" knowing she won't get in). Still, they were strict and AN did not get to ride on anything that requires her to be any taller.

Mr Liow had planned to bring us to Disney World in Florida in 2 weeks but after this, he decided to postpone it to next year, hoping AN will have grown a couple of inches or more to be able to get on more rides.

We were happy to see her enjoy herself. Last year at Disneyland, she was very upset. For both days we were there, she fussed more than she enjoyed herself. It was cold, she was hungry but couldn't eat, tired but couldn't sleep. So, when AN does not enjoy herself, I do not, too. Coz she will want to suckle very often for comfort (more so in the past. Now only when we get to the car, and only if I'm not the driver. It's easier that she's older now.) and it was not easy to find somewhere to nurse her at Disneyland.

Mr Liow asked if I wanted to start queue-ing for the After Thanksgiving Sales at the outlet after Legoland. I thought not. We were all tired and I wasn't dying to buy a lot. Plus, after last year's shopping with MIL (OMG.....she can really shop.....the whole car almost exploded with things she bought over just 3 outlet visits in 1 week as we headed home last year!)

So, no. I was not about to put AN in a car filled to the brim with shopping bags that threaten to fall onto us anytime.

Friday (27th Nov)
So, we missed the midnight crazy shopping. Since we had dining credits, we ate, and ate, and ate, and then we went to join the shopping people at Carlsbad outlet.

It was noon when we went and the many many many parking lots were all taken up. It's been a loooonnnnnnggggg time since we had to drive around and wait for so long before we get a space to park the car.

When everyone has to wait, someone has to show the ugliness of humanity.

We waited a long time (almost an hour?? I asked Mr Liow to leave but he preferred to continue waiting since we were already there) and finally found someone ready to leave.

This other guy, turned the corner and saw that car moving out of that lot and decided to stop and wait, even though he saw us already there waiting. He then got his wife (or girlfriend) to get off the car, step into the lot (to make sure we couldn't get in before they do) and then without any shame, parked and left.

We were upset but what to do?

So, we waited again and finally someone else was ready to leave.

Another car came and stopped right in front of us, seemingly about to snatch that lot like the other guy. This time Mr Liow honked to make sure these people in the car saw us already waiting.

I finally got myself some clothes. hehe. The last time I did, it was in June last year from online (and a couple from Holister this year). My wardrobe back in Singapore will be near empty when we return.

As usual, AN always benefits from shopping trips. She enjoys shopping and even tells me what's nice and what to buy. She made me pose behind a pair of pants that she got from the rack, for a 3 year old....she insisted: "Mummy!! See? This one is for mummy! So pretty!"

Saturday (28th 'Nov)
We did not leave San Diego as planned to. Mr Liow couldn't bear to leave. The trip was too short, he said. hehe. And my sweet hubby 'forced' me to go enjoy myself at the spa. He had more credits to spend (our trip was almost entirely sponsored by Harrah's: stay was free, food was free, now spa! And he did not even spend much there. hmm..Makes me wonder...if...he...did...)

He got me a pedicure voucher coz I didn't want to do spa but then we realised too late that we had to make bookings in advace. We were supposed to check out by noon and did not have time to do a pedicure in the evening, so we got another voucher for facial instead.

It was so relaxing. Thanks so much dear!

While I laid there relaxing, he lugged our luggage and with AN's help pushing the stroller, got everything in the car.

We then drove on to La Quinta next. Mr Liow wanted to check out the Naval Museum and if time allowed, drive up to Coronado Island.

I got sick somehow and felt nausea after checking in and on the way to the Naval Museum. Mr Liow decided to leave halfway (I was such a damper..) so that I could rest in the inn. The rest of the day was spend in the inn watching TV.

I threw up when we got back and food from the morning came out almost whole. Indigestion I think.

Felt so bad coz I think Mr Liow really wanted to see those ships.

We had dinner at a Thai restaurant which did not serve food of the minimum Thai standard. Tom Yum soup was not the least bit spicy (we got to choose from a scale of 1-10 for spiciness, 10 being the spiciest and we chose 7.) Even AN drank the soup without realising it was supposed to be spicy. We also ordered Otak but they steamed it before grilling it. And it tasted sour.

Mr Liow asked if it was supposed to taste sour (Sgp's Otak definitely does not, unless it's gone bad) and was told it should not. They took the whole dish of Otak back and mentioned nothing about it at all afterwards, not even when we were supposed to pay (they simply took the amount out from the final bill..)

Sunday (29th Nov)
We checked out and left for home.

Can't believe our holiday's passed just like that.

It started to drizzle as we got nearer to home. Shortly after we stepped in, we hear loud noises outside. I thought it was very heavy rain but Mr Liow checked and saw ICE! It was a hale (hail?). We took some pictures of them and AN was so excited she wanted to check them out at both the patios downstairs and even the balcony upstairs.

We had that once last year but she was too young to know what that was. It's fun watching her react now.

That moment, I wondered if Baileys and Maen were safe in Camalot, if they were warm, if they were frightened. I was worried they ran away from Camalot and if they did, they would be out in the cold, and frightened.

Monday (30th Nov)
We went to get the furkids together.

They were happy to be back and like they always are after their Camalot stay, tired!

Baileys had very bad tear stains after this stay. It was a big patch of red stain, something that's never happened to him before. Guess this time due to the busy Thanksgiving week, the people at Camalot were too busy to clean him up (I've never expected them to clean them up but they are always neat and tidy when we go collect them).

After pondering for the whole day, I think the tearing was due to an allergy to pollen, or something from the outside. They hade lots of time to roam the garden at Camalot and given that it's now Fall, I'm not surprised he was tearing due to seasonal allergy.

They got their bath and both look and smell good now!

It's Cyber Monday and time to do lots of shopping. It's online shopping day today!

Pictures have been posted in Facebook. Wanted to put them up but it's going to take many many more days coz there are too many.
