AN's going to school!

We've finally registered AN for N2 next year. Prior to this, I've never heard of nursery classes starting at age 3 (N1) but then again, classes for kids here start as early as 18 mths.

So, big sister AN is finally going to school. She'll be joining the N1 students in Dec and then progress to N2 with them next year.

She was so adorable when we visited Shekinah Montessori this morning. We had to leave our shoes outside the classroom so she naturally picked up hers and put them into a shoe slot like she had to in Gymboree in Tucson. We went in and out a few times to have a look at their classrooms and she would put her shoes away each time.

We've enrolled her for half day classes since the children do nothing much during second half of the day (shower, nap, dinner and watch 'educational tv program'.

The centre is right below my parents' place and we were thinking of leaving her with my parents for maybe 2 days in a week after school and Mr Liow will fetch her home after he gets off work. I'll go pick her up from school or bring her home from my parents' place earlier on the other days. Or my father can help bring her back to my place if he's coming over since he used to come over everyday when AN was a baby. We'll see what works.

As much as I want AN to bond with my parents and with this opportunity to do so (a school system we're comfy with), I don't want to lose my freedom to make decisions. I'm expecting my mum to start planning for me what I should be doing everyday after Dec. She's going to expect me to be at their place from day to night, or at least AN to be there till Mr Liow goes fetch her in the evenings. I hope I'm wrong... I want AN to be home as well, else it's going to be very hard to set up routines (like nap, school work time, dinner etc).

And I don't want to neglect BM. I don't want to leave them at home waiting for us to come back everyday.

Maybe I'll leave AN with my parents after school on Friday coz then there'll be no need to rush with homework?

We'll just have to see how it goes.
