Maen's Entry: We are back too!

Ok, after the long blogs by mummy, it's time we update about ourselves, having just returned home too after our stay in Camalot.

I forgot to wave goodbye to papa and mummy when we got to Camalot that day. Gor gor did look back and hesitate a little before he joined me in following Uncle Jim to the garden. We're sure mummy mentioned that in her earlier post.

Uncle Jim took pictures of us during Thanksgiving Day and passed those pictures to papa, which he showed mummy, and which mummy got jealous. One of the pictures had me snuggling up to Uncle Jim. She was jealous coz I used to snuggle up to only her and no one else.

If I have to share her to with the human puppy, I would expect her to share me with anyone else too. That's a lesson on sharing.

We'd put the pictures up after scanning them, or if mummy would help us to take a picture of it and post it online. Uncle Jim didn't give us a soft copy, mummy said. I didn't think the picture felt like a 'hard' copy coz it was 'soft'. Oh well...

That aside, coz of Thanksgiving when people start to leave their home and furkids, to travel, and shop, and spend, we had lots of furbuddies to play with.

Out of which there were so many other CKCS-es that we lost count.

You can imagine the ear-tugging, tail-pulling games we played. I don't even need to have gor gor around, but I couldn't tell him to go home, could I?

Mummy was worried I'd gain weight again (it's winter, plus I am told I put on weight simply by breathing air..) and was glad I didn't.

Oh, did mummy promise pictures? Ours will be on the way too. (^____^)

Let's hope it doesn't take too long.

Oh, we forgot to update about the thing with AVA (the government sector in charge of animal control and what-nots).

We have been here for more than 7 months, haven't we?

Uncle Andy received a letter from AVA to have my license renewed in September and mummy told him to ignore that letter since we had an export permit approved by them (AVA). Mummy thought they probably hadn't updated their system.

We all know how lousy their system can be. This just confirms it further.

And then couple of weeks back, Uncle Andy received a warning letter indicating that if we did not pay up to renew my license, we'd be fined up to $500 (or was it $5K?). They offered to fine us $20 in addition to the renewal fee of $14 if we decide to settle it soon. Isn't that ridiculous? That wasn't the most ridiculous of the whole episode.

Papa called them wanting to inform them that we had the export permit and have already left Singapore for months. The lady in charge wasn't available so he had to speak to the man who picked up the call. The person on the other line was sooooo rude that papa couldn't help raising his voice in return.

That man told papa that we had to write in to them in black and white to inform them to cancel our license. Isn't that common sense that with an export permit, we wouldn't be in Singapore anymore? That man insisted that it was papa's responsibility to write in to cancel the license.

Papa wondered why was it that they couldn't send internal notification within AVA to inform each other that.

That man refused to do anything to cancel our license, so papa asked to speak to a higher authority. That man was so rude we could hear papa's blood boiling!

Papa managed to speak to the lady in charge of our case and she agreed to update the system without us having to provide anything in black and white.

To ensure that we do not get any more warning come May when gor gor's license expires, papa called up the 'higher authority' to reflect the inconvenience that AVA had always been putting us through (anyone who had dealings with AVA knows what it's all about, don't we? ) in addition to this latest case.

The 'higher authority' was polite (mummy said they got rude service whenever they called AVA and was glad that at least someone was polite for once) and assured papa that there was no need to send in any letter to inform them of our exportation and cancellation of license, and that he would look into the irregularities of their system (we hope he meant it)

We heard that it gets on the human being's nerves when they receive 4 reminders in a month to renew our license, even after the renewal had been done and approved. That, multiply by 2 coz there are 2 of us does sound frustrating enough.

Once upon a time, the human tried to renew gor gor's license for the 1st time but was told the license number wasn't valid.

Took them a while to finally get it renewed after they called up and was told it wasn't the number shown on the renewal notice. The human panicked by then coz they received a warning letter. hmm..

Sometimes we wonder how human work.

Why can't they be more effective like we are?
