Trip Updates Part 2: Las Vegas

*11 Dec 08 updated: Pictures here*

26th - 30th November 2008
The Drive to Las Vegas
We set off for LV at abt 11am and passed by Tanger Outlet on the way there. MIL was game for more shopping but in case Mr Liow, being the only driver (although the journey there probably took less than 5hrs all in all), got too tired, we decided to spend less than 2 hours there.

By the time we checked into the hotel, it was about 4pm.

PLANET HOLLYWOOD!

This hotel stay was way better than our 1st at LA.

The room was posh and clean, and not to mention, affordable too. It was only US$20+ more than Castle Inn's room rates (by the way, Castle Inn's rates could have been higher if not for Mr Liow's military benefits. Not worth the price in my opinion..but then again, I don't know if the hotels in that area are any better for their prices.)

Thanksgiving Sale
The sales start at midnight last Friday (I keep hearing people refer that Friday after Thanksgiving as Black Friday), so we went to the outlet to join in the wee hours of the day.

There was a looooooooonnnnnngggg queue at Coach outlet. MIL was part of it.

Mr Liow and I took a sleeping AN around the outlet for a walk with nothing in particular that we wanted.

Since there was a sale, I thought I'd stock up on lip pencils BUT after queueing for almost half an hour coz the cash register was down, I gave up and left.

Mr Liow got a nice Oakley sunglass at a steal, and more winter outfits (some for his soccer sessions to last him through winter. He'll freeze running in shorts and sleeveless. hehe)

I bought 2 eyeshadows and erm...oh ya, 9 boxes of Crabtree & Evelynn Hand Therapy! The large ones were only USD$7 each! Isn't that cheap? hehe.

Las Vegas Free and Easy
The few days after that were free and easy.

We walked where we wanted to go, ate what we wanted to eat.

MIL went for a show and we went to walk around outside on the streets.

The 1st couple of days were rainy but the rain clouds went away on the 3rd day. Weather was nice and cool, bordering on cold in fact.

I had my boots on throughout the whole trip...muahahah!

The Drive Back to Tucson
It was a long drive back home, almost as long as the one to LA.

We passed by Hoover Dam and stopped for a little phototaking.

And then there was an accident causing a jam which took more than 2 hours to clear.

By the time we got home, it was night and poor Mr Liow still had to bring the rented car back to Thrifty.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We were surprisingly happy to be home. It's rare to look forward to reaching home when we go on holidays, isn't it?
The bad news is, Tucson is still the hottest place ever.
It was higest at 28 deg C yesterday and believe it or not, it was 31 deg C the day before -____-"
IT'S DECEMBER NOW!! I thought winter starts Dcember *sob sob*
Nights are cool tho and we are thankful for that.
I'll try upload pictures as soon as I can
;)
